AbstractThe criteria for non-fluidized gas-particle flow were established according to the basic character of interparticle contact. The dynamics of non-fluidized gas-particle flow was studied by using the theory of multiphase flow and particulate media mechanics. A series of dynamic equations was developed, correlating gas pressure, interparticle contact pressure, and bed voidage to the properties of the gas and the particles, the geometry of the bed, and the condition of operation. Solutions of these equations showed good agreement with experimental data obtained from the experiments of vertical pneumatic moving bed uptransport, V-valve, inclined moving bed, and gas-particle flow through an orifice.
