Immobilization of glucose oxidase in liposome-templated biomimetic silica particles

AbstractGlucose oxidase (GOx) was immobilized in biomimetic silica particles by coupling liposome vesicles with a biomimetic silicification process simulating a cell microenvironment SEM images showed that the immobilized GOx particles were spherical, and their diameter was approximately 200 nm. The recovery of GOx reached 71.8% under the optimized reaction conditions. The immobilized GOx showed improved thermal and pH stability, and its tolerance to denaturants and reusability were also greatly improved. This was attributed to the space limitations and stable environment in the support (C) 2013, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Published by Elsevier B.V.
