AbstractTitanium phosphate was prepared from acidic titanium dioxide wastewater, and its adsorption behavior for cerium (III) was studied. The experimental results of XRD, XRF, SEM, EDS, BET, FT-IR showed that the prepared titanium phosphate had an amorphous structure and excellent specific surface area. The adsorption process of cerium was in accordance with Langmuir isotherm model and Pseudo-first-order kinetic model. When the temperature was 298 K, the maximum adsorption capacity reached 158 mg/g. At the same time, the adsorption process was spontaneous, endothermic and selective. Coordination was the main cause of adsorption, electrostatic adsorption and intraparticle diffusion also played a role. Titanium phosphate was a promising adsorbent with good adsorption stability and reusability.
